Recently it wont let me now, I can't however seem to update the driver itself. If I go through device managment then it says it has the latest driver, I have tried the Intel driver update utility but that only gives me a download for chipset device that also fails to install.Any advice? I need a graphics driver for an intel Pentium P6200 with intel HD Graphics that works with Windows 8 64 bit operating system. My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5733Z-4816 the processor is an Intel Pentium P6200 with Intel HD Graphics 8GB of DDR3 memory and a 320 GB hard drive. I went to the Acer website and found an update to the BIOS. Separate motherboards for Intel Core and Pentium processors so you have no real upgrade path without changing the motherboard. 1 Kudo Wutsap. Tutor 15 0 0 Message 3 of 7 1,227 Flag Post. Upgrading HP 630 from Intel Pentium P6200 to i5 560m? No but feel free to ignore the information and proceed.

Hello,

I currently have the HP 630 with Pentium P6200, and I saw that it has socket PGA 988. I also saw that the most cost/performance worthy CPU for this socket is the i5 560m, but I can't find anywhere a place that officialy shows whether it is compatible

I did see a few posts about it, and even saw a manual, but from some reason, the i5 560m wasn't on the list, although it's the same architechture, same TDP, same socket? Is there a reason why the HP 630 motherboard shoulnd't support it?

Also, I saw here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02834036, starting at page 9,

that the old HP 630 might even support the i5 2540m? Which is far better and newer?

Or maybe they refer to a different version of HP 630? (If such exists?)

EDIT: Now I see that HP 630 has different motherboards chipsets: HM55, HM65, so I think I have the HM55 with Pentium P6200, so it's not upgradable to i5 2540m or any 2nd gen CPUs? But anyways why isn't i5-560m on the list if it's the first gen and it's similiar to some others that are on the list?

I'm confused,

Thanks

Look at page 21 of the Manual. Separate motherboards for Intel Core and Pentium processors so you have no real upgrade path without changing the motherboard. Sorry.

Chap 1 introduction to management. Thank you, but maybe it's an old manual and there has been BIOS update to make it support? I mean, it's the same chipset and same socket after all, at least the i5 560m Manga studio 5 download free. full version.

Ahhh I really want to ignore it, it's just. well too good to be true But what exactly in the BIOS prevents it from actually working? Is it a software limit? Or hardware? Because it's completely same specs!

EDIT: Look at this thread: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-630-with-HM55-Chipset-CPU-Up..

The OP said he bought an HP 630 with i3 370m, with HM55 chipset(Just like mine) < and the i3 370m is not even on the list of the manual. . ? So maybe there are some CPUs that aren't on the list?

The BIOS has little to do with it. In fact, all these models use the same BIOS. When they spec out these low priced boards for bargain processors they do not include circuitry to make the advanced features of the high end processor work like power management, speedstepping, etc. So an Intel Core processor might work but it will run very hot, etc. Odds are it will not work at all.
