Packet Radio Software Windows 10
I am developing a software dual-port Packet-Radio TNC that uses a soundcard as a modem and supports AX.25 protocol. It has been tested on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and has proved stable in operation. The Soundmodem has two TCP/IP interfaces to link with client application: AGW PE and (X)KISS. In case of AGW PE interface, this modem is a direct replacement of original AGW Packet Engine and emulates AGW PE API. The Soundmodem may be used to build EMCOMM, APRS, BBS, Node station, for satellites etc. It supports such modes:
- The best software TNC is Dire Wolf. It will even outperform a hardware TNC. You don't want to use the VOX on a radio for packet, it's too slow. Use one of your serial ports to key the transmitter or build a simple VOX circuit that will respond fast enough for packet.
- Soundmodem UZ7HO - Soundmodem is a free software defined dual-port Packet-Radio TNC that implement a soundcard as a modem and supports AX.25 protocol. Soundmodem has been tested on Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and has proved stable in operation. The Soundmodem may be used to build EMCOMM, APRS, BBS, Node station, for satellites.
- SV2AGW packet radio driver, runs TCP/IP protocol over radio, support windows 95/98/NT and several devices like baycom and, E5DXL 9600 G3RUH compatible modems, DRSI and Sound cards by SV2AGW George Rossopoulos.

Can UISS also be used for normal radioamateur basic packet operations or APRS too. Powerful features allows you easy monitoring of any type of AX25 packet traffic. Plots the heard stations on a map using UISS module: UI-MapView! Works in all Windows versions or Linux (using emul software). Windows for the end user is the easiest for installing the 'TCP/IP over AX.25' software and has the broadest range of Packet applications. You can use a physical Packet Modem (Terminal Node Controller = TNC), but at 1200, 9600 and even 19,200 Windows DSP.
